Happy Father's Day!

Today is Alex's 1st Father's Day. We had a pretty great day!

I made breakfast and then we did presents. We spent the rest of the day at my parents.

Alex is such an amazing Dad! I watch him play with Amelia, or even just look at her, and the love he has for Amelia radiates from within him. She truly is the apple of his eye. Just as I couldn't imagine the depth of love I would have for my child, I couldn't imagine it was possible to love Alex more than I already did. But seeing him love our daughter has made me love him on a whole different level. Happy Father's Day to the man who gave me the world!

And....pictures!

I'm Crawling!

After months of faking everyone out, I started crawling Monday! I love crawling to my toys and to places Mommy & Daddy keep moving me away from, like the entertainment center. I keep hearing "no-no, baby" over and over...it makes me laugh!

The best part about crawling is that I can get to things that I can pull up on to stand. My music stage is perfect for this trick!

Getting ready to stand up

I saw my doctor on Tuesday for my 9 month check up. Although I've seen him lots of times, I cried and cried because he wasn't Mommy or Daddy. They call it "stranger anxiety" and the doctor says I'm going through it early. He was also impressed with all of my skills...crawling, trying to walk, using my 2 fingers to feed myself and pick things up instead of using my whole hand. He said that I'm very advanced!

I'm getting bigger. I now weigh 20 pounds, 13 ounces and am 29.5 inches long! I definitely take after Daddy. I guess that's why I'm in 12 month clothes already!

Other than being freaked out by the doctor, it was a good visit...no shots!!!

It's past my bedtime, so I'd better go. Hope you enjoy the pictures!

9 Months Old!

I'm 9 months old today!!!

Are you sure it doesn't go this way, Mommy?

Wait, what does this say?

Mmmmmmm,

Um, how do we have a 9 month old child?!? Seriously. It is incredibly hard to believe that Amelia is already 9 months old.

She is such a happy baby! Amelia is constantly smiling and laughing. And she talks in her own language...we can make out "mama" and an occasional "da". She gives hugs and just yesterday learned how to give "kisses," although most of them land on the couch or random body parts (like our legs or noses).

It's a race to see if Amelia will walk or crawl first. She has the army-crawl down, and gets up on all fours. She rocks, and has crawled twice but otherwise she's trying to stand and walk. Amelia cruises around the couches, and can walk almost across the room when holding our hands. She even walks with her push-toy! She just doesn't have the balance to do it solo yet.

Amelia is growing like a weed! We'll have more official stats later this week when she goes to the pediatrician, but she's roughly 30 inches tall!!! When we're out and about, everyone thinks she's much older than she is because of her height. She eats 3 solid meals a day, and her favorite is still anything with sweet potatoes. Amelia really hasn't been successful with table food yet. She'll nibble on potatoes, but doesn't like puffs and we haven't tried anything else. She just doesn't like the texture yet.

Basically, Amelia is an awesome child!
