1st Haircut

I love my daughter more than life itself, but she was starting to look a little...shaggy. Hair in her eyes, a slight mullet in the back, it was the perfect storm of hairstyles. It wouldn't have been so bad if Amelia would let me put her hair in pigtails, or even put a stinking barrette in to keep her hair out of her face. No, my child likes the unkempt look.

So, with a heavy heart, I decided it was time for her 1st haircut. It was a no-brainer that we needed a professional - I am NO hairstylist! We found a place that only does children's hair, The Hairy Elephant, made an appointment, and headed out.

Let me just say that neither Alex nor I had much faith in our child today. We can't get her to sit still for ANYTHING, so we thought there was NO WAY she would sit for a hair cut! And we definitely expected tears. From me and from Amelia. We were completely wrong.

Amelia was so good! The salon was super cute...the "chairs" are cars and trains. Amelia had a blast driving her little yellow car. Each station has tvs, and Amelia's already was playing Dora - it was perfect! She sat still-ish the whole time, and even let her stylist blow dry her hair AND put in a little Pebble-esque ponytail. AND she had fun playing with the boys and the toys in the waiting area. She even SHARED! She didn't learn that from me! :)

It was a big day! Enjoy the pics:

Jen, this little cutie has such adorable dresses!
As far as the haircut...I'm so happy that she was good for you. Evan has had 13 haircuts...YES, 13! Every single time, he has screamed and cried. Some worse than others. Be thankful! :)
