More pictures

I realized that I also had some pictures on my camera (the other pictures were from Alex's DSLR), so I downloaded them and figured that I would put them on here, too!

Easter 2011

We've spent the past 2 Easters in Florida with Alex's family. This year we couldn't do it since we had Julian. We were really lucky that my sister was able to fly in (her 1st Easter back home in 10 years) AND that Alex's family came in so that we could all spend the holiday together. It was really nice to have everyone here for Julian's 1st Easter.

About baths

Here is how Amelia felt about baths...

Here is how Julian feels about baths...

Like a true boy, he can't stand to take a bath.

It's a twister!

Scary times here lately.

Friday night a tornado swept through a few neighborhoods really close to home. It was a terrible storm that destroyed our airport and 1600 homes. Fortunately, no lives were lost. We are extremely lucky that we had no damage.

Alex's parents and brother were in to experience the storm. We were putting Amelia to bed when the sirens started going off. We packed things up and headed downstairs. We took quite a few things downstairs (extra bottles, pillows, etc.) in case we had to be there for a while. Our basement is finished and Amelia has a playroom down there, thankfully. Amelia had a blast! It was bedtime and she got to stay up, plus everyone was down to watch her play.

As I said, we were lucky that the storm passed quickly and we had no damage. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who lost their homes.

Visitors!

We've had a house full of people lately. As new home owners, and as people who have loved ones who live so far away from us, we were THRILLED to be able to entertain our family at our house.

Monday 4/18 my sister Kimmy flew in from NYC. It was her first time meeting Julian, and it had been 4 months since she'd seen Amelia. She stayed the night with us. She flew back today.

The next day, Alex's mom drove back in from Michigan. Obviously she stayed with us (she's here for another week or so).

Thusday night Alex's brother and dad flew in from Michigan. They left on Easter.

We had such a great time with everyone. Amelia probably had the MOST fun! She loved being around her aunt and uncle, and hanging out with Dzia Dzia.

A Plague On Our House

It appears as if someone has placed a curse on the Pontus family.

I was at the doctor with Amelia on Monday - she has croup. I was at the doctor with Julian on Thursday - he has RSV. MAJOR SUCKAGE.

Shall I recap our last 5 weeks? Week 1 - Julian born, obvious time in the hospital. Week 2 - Julian sick with upper respiratory virus, doctor visit. Week 3 - Julian has pyloric stenosis, requires surgery, time in the hospital. Week 4 - Julian has 1 month check up, doctor visit. Week 5 - Amelia has croup, doctor visit; Julian has RSV, doctor visit.

That's right...we've either seen the doctor or been in the hospital every week since Julian has been born. It's pretty ridiculous. I just want both of my kids healthy, is that too much to ask?!?

Don't get me wrong, I'm counting my blessings. Things could be worse, they always can be. HOWEVER this sucks, it really does.

Amelia is on the mend. Julian is still really congested, but is getting better. Hopefully this is all over soon.
