Julian turned 1 month old on Thursday. Time sure does fly by when you have 2 kids! We've had a lot of things going on that's kept us busy (buying a house, moving in, trying to unpack and settle in, having a sick kid in and out of the hospital and having surgery, etc.).
We saw Dr. S (the pediatrician) on Thursday for Julian's 1 month check up and for his follow up from surgery. What a visit we had! First of all, Julian HATES being naked. H-A-T-E-S it. Second, he had been trying to poop all morning. Both of these things made the weight check very comical. The protocol is to place him on the scale in nothing but a diaper, and then slip the diaper off when the nurse is ready for the measurement. He's already crying because he's naked. We (Alex) slip off his diaper and there's a massive poop in there. Fine. Alex starts cleaning him up and Julian pees all over himself. We try cleaning him off and he POOPS on the table. As we're dealing with that, Julian PEES AGAIN. The nurse is laughing hysterically! We're laughing. The nurse decides it's best just to put a clean diaper on, because this whole debaucle could just go on & on. It was a riot!
Anyway, Dr. S is EXTREMELY pleased with how well Julian is recovering. He's gaining (truth be told, Julian is eating like a horse so it wasn't a surprise), and Dr. S said to let him eat as much as he wants. 2 of his 3 steri-strips covering his incisions had already fallen off and, since Dr. S said they both looked completely healed, he removed the 3rd. We've been given the green light to give him a "real" bath (he doesn't like those either, but that's a different story). Julian got his 2nd Hepatitis shot - he cried for about 20 seconds and then was fine. All in all, it was a great visit.
Here are the stats - Height: 21 1/4, 45% (this can't be right, since he was 21 1/2 at birth); Weight: 9 pounds, 3 ounces, 45%; Head: 14 3/4, 25%

I think I would have been laughing hysterically too with the doctor's visit and Julian peeing/pooping. Too funny!:)
